Do you know what to do in case there’s an emergency? If there’s a flood? Tornado? Fire? If someone is choking? If the power hasn’t gone out, you can stay informed through radio, TV or the Internet. But oftentimes, cable, electric and cell phone service is disabled, making communication nearly impossible. What precautions can you take? Darlene Kemp, the Executive Director of Vista Points, will talk with us about supplies you might want to have in an emergency kit, a place to store important documents, have all family members’ and other important phone numbers written down or memorized. There’s safety at home, in the workplace, on the road . . . Darlene will help you fill in the blanks. She has significant experience with the IDD community (particularly with special needs trusts), has both an MPH and an MBA, and serves on numerous area Boards.
