Our Place Nashville has been partnering with comedian Derrick Tennant and The Lab at Zainies to present six weeks of stand-up comedy classes in July and August.  In these classes, Derrick – a Friendship House resident when he’s not on the road performing – has been leading us in comedy classes that will lead to a showcase performance The Lab at Zainies, a comedy space for new talent at the renowned Zainies Nashville, a pillar of laughter and a beacon for comedic talents for over 40 years.

Class participants have been learning self-confidence, how to maintain eye contact, how to tell a joke or a story, and are rehearsing today for their big show — JOKABILITY — just two days away on August 22!!!! If you weren’t able to buy tickets, we’re hoping to be promoted to the main comedy club next door for another show NEXT YEAR. Stay tuned!
