Caregiver Workshop: Financial Future and Estate Planning

The Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee, Capital Wealth Advisors, and Special Needs Law Center, Maurer & Gardner, PLLC present information to help you understand how the family is protected if something happens to the primary care person today, preparing for the age of 18 to maximize government benefits, and how your loved one will be taken care of when you can no longer care for them. Issues discussed will include taking advantage of government benefits and protecting your son/daughter’s eligibility, estate planning (wills, powers of attorney, and conservatorships), special needs trusts and funding options, and letters of intent.
