Friendship House Community Dinners

Residents at each of our Friendship Houses meet together at least once a week to eat dinner together. Over time, they build a familial bond as they share not just a house but their lives with each other. A University of Oxford study found that communal eating leads to greater individual happiness, a sense of belonging, and satisfaction with life. The regularity of scheduled meals brings a sense of comfort and routine. This time spent with those close to us helps us feel secure and content, giving us a consistent opportunity to communicate, listen, and receive consolation or appreciation. These dinners are for Friendship House residents only and are most often held on Mondays. Check with your resident director for details.
