Julie Lounds Taylor, PhD, is the Transitions Lab Principal Investigator and Lab Director as well as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A major focus of Dr. Taylor's research is on factors that promote a positive transition into adulthood for individuals with developmental disabilities and those with autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Taylor will be co-presenting this evening with Carol Westlake, the Executive Director of the Tennessee Disability Coalition, on Building a Support System for loved ones with developmental disabilities -- identifying and coordinating the people who can provide paid and unpaid supports for a well-balanced life and to ensure there are people caring for these family members after parents or other caregivers are no longer able to do so. The family group meets on Zoom from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm. For more information, contact one of the group's coordinators, Mary Bers.
