Life Skills Class: A Conversation on Race and Racism

Public discussion about race and racism are taking place across the country in the wake of the killing in Minneapolis of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man,on May 25, 2020, by a white police officer. Mr. Floyd’s death has led to protests across the country on racism and police brutality. Melody Fowler-Green, Executive Director of the Metro Human Relations Commission, will lead a discussion on race and racism in the United States in our life skills class tonight. The Commission’s mission is to protect and promote the personal dignity, peace, safety, security, health, and general welfare of all people in Nashville and Davidson County. The Commission’s work is organized around a theme of “One City for All People.”
