If there is one person in Music City who is most responsible for making Shakespeare available to all of us, it’s the Executive Artistic Director of The Nashville Shakespeare Festival: Denice Hicks. Denice has been with the NSF nearly 30 years, and in that time has helped make the Festival into one of the region’s leading professional theatres. Each summer, 12,000 – 17,000 people attend the annual Shakespeare in the Park production. The Festival now provides arts-in-education programs in MNPS, as well as in businesses, law firms and other adult groups, providing workshops that exercise creative thinking, problem solving, and effective communication with Shakespeare’s language, characters and themes. Denice will be bringing Shakespeare to Our Place, letting class participants play parts in some of Shakespeare’s most well-known plays. This will definitely be a drama-filled evening!
