Next Chapter Book Club members love books for the same reasons most people do. They enjoy being transported to different worlds where they meet interesting characters and learn about exciting new things. Taking that journey with a group of friends makes it even more delightful and fun. The group is starting Hugh Lofting’s Dr. Doolittle, the doctor who prefers treating animals to humans. And oh! — he can speak with the animals in their own languages! The stories are set in early Victorian England, where Dr. John Doolittle lives in the fictional English village of Puddleby-on-the-March in the West Country.

The book club will be on hiatus over the holidays and will NOT be meeting on December 18, December 25, or January 1.

The book club’s next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 8.
